The ongoing second season of the mystery anime SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary has another trailer and visual out, right before Episode 8 is due to drop at the end of next week (May 24th).
This time, the latest trailer and visual were released via the SHOSHIMIN official X account to commemorate the beginning of a new arc in the animated series — the Winter Limited Edition Chocolate Bonbons case.
Light novel readers, of course, will know that means we are now entering the territory of Volume 6 of the series.
In the Chocolate Bonbons case visual, we see Kobato and Osanai walking on a snowy roadway close to a bridge, as someone watches them through an open car window.
Interestingly, the car’s side-view mirror shows the pair wearing summer clothes but, whether that has any relevance to the plot, we will soon find out.
The arc itself will kick off in SHOSHIMIN, Season 2, Episode 8.

As for the anime’s latest trailer, it begins with Kobato being the victim of a hit-and-run accident in the same place where another hit-and-run incident occurred to Sakaga, one of his classmates, months previously.
As you might expect, Kobato is now trying to figure out what caused both accidents, who the drivers were, and why did the car hit him?
Especially as we learn, later in the trailer, Osanai is also investigating the accident and is convinced the driver made eye contact with Kobato — before hitting him anyway.
Possibly deliberately?
Now this arc sounds like it will be an intriguing one, doesn’t it?

Production details for SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary, Season 2
The second season of the popular animated mystery series is being directed by Mamoru Kanbe (The Promised Neverland), with Toshiya Oono (Blue Exorcist) providing the series composition, and Atsushi Saitou (Love Live! Superstar!!) designing the characters.
Studio Lapin Track (Undead Girl Murder Farce) is animating the series.
Season 2 premiered its first episode on April 6th, 2025.
As for the SHOSHIMIN plot, for both seasons, the light novel series describes it in this way:
A comedic detective tale about Kobato-kun and Osanai-san, two high school freshmen striving to become model ordinary citizens — despite constantly stumbling into bizarre mysteries.
They share neither a romantic bond nor dependency, but a relationship of mutual benefit. Hand in hand, they pursue their pure and modest ideal of ordinary life… only to face vanishing purses, cryptic paintings, the secret of perfect cocoa, and a shattered glass bottle during exams.
Though Kobato-kun loathes standing out (despite his Sherlockian talents), circumstances keep forcing him to solve these puzzles.
Will he ever truly grasp that elusive “model ordinary citizen star” he longs for?
