Footprints of Change grabs 7.1 for its initial Douban rating
The just-ended Chinese drama Footprints of Change has debuted on Douban with a 7.1 rating.
To celebrate that initial rating, Tencent Video released a visual in celebration, while also thanking viewers for their support:
Thrilled to share that our show has premiered with a solid 7.1 rating on Douban!
This achievement wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s support and love. š
Time may pass, but our passion remains unchanged; with dedication as our pen, we continue writing our story.

As I intimated, the show’s Douban rating is a preliminary one that will change over time as more and more people watch the C-drama and rate it.
Footprints of Change exceeds 20,000 on Tencent’s heat index
But, hey, a 7.1 is a very good rating to kick off with so far.
What does a Douban rating signify?
In short, aĀ good Douban score is generally considered to be 7.0 and above.
However, the context is everything. Hereās a more detailed breakdown:
-
-
Below 6.0:Ā Usually indicates a poorly received or “bad” show/movie. A rating in the 4s or 5s often means it’s widely panned by critics and audiences.
-
6.0 – 7.0:Ā This is anĀ average or mediocreĀ range. It means the production is watchable but has significant flaws, or it’s divisive (some love it, some hate it). For a big-budget blockbuster or a highly anticipated show, a score in this range might be seen as a disappointment.
-
7.0 – 8.0:Ā This is aĀ solidly goodĀ score. It means the show is well-liked and considered quality entertainment. This is the range your example (“åęč±ē£å¼å7.1”) falls intoāit’s a positive result worth promoting.
-
8.0 – 9.0:Ā This is anĀ excellent or greatĀ score. Productions in this range are considered must-watch and are often among the best of the year.
-
Above 9.0:Ā This isĀ exceptional and rare. It’s reserved for classics, groundbreaking masterpieces, and all-time greats. Very few titles sustain a score above 9.0.
-
So, yep, Footprints of Change garnering a 7.1 for its first rating is excellent.
Footprints of Change, by the way, stars Ryan Cheng, Tong Yao, Liu Yi Jun, Jelly Lin, Rain Wang and Zhang Rui Han.
The 30-episode series streamed on Tencent Video and on WeTV and iQIYI (depending on the region you are in) from September 4th until September 14th, 2025.
