K-drama earned a 3.0 percent increase in its viewership overnight
tvN legal drama Pro Bono, Episode 4 grabbed its best ratings so far last night, with a huge jump in audience share versus Episode 3.
According to data via Nielsen Korea, Pro Bono, Episode 4 grabbed a nationwide viewership of 8.03 percent on Sunday night.
That is a massive jump from the 5.01 percent it earned for Episode 3 the night before.
The Jung Kyung Ho-led drama also performed exceptionally well in Seoul where it garnered 8.14 percent of the viewership compared to the 5.06 percent it earned on Saturday.
Both ratings made Pro Bono the #1 most-watched show across all channels in its time slot.

Pro Bono on Netflix
Surprisingly, at least to me, Pro Bono has not yet made the Top 10 on the Netflix Non-English TV Shows chart.
When the chart was released last week, the K-drama had two episodes out on the platform, but didn’t earn the high viewership I would have expected.
Meanwhile, another Korean drama, Dynamite Kiss, shot to the #1 spot.
What food does Jung Kyung Ho keep in his fridge? How much alcohol resides in there?
With four episodes now out, however, Pro Bono has more of a chance of climbing into the Top 10 when the chart’s update is released on Tuesday. Especially as it is currently in the Top 10 in 12 countries. Fingers crossed then, eh?

International ratings for Pro Bono so far
Meanwhile, Pro Bono is earning a lowish 7.9 out of 10 on MDL, but with the number of trolls that now affect that site’s ratings, that’s to be expected. That rating, however, will likely rise when the K-drama ends, and the people actually watching it rate it.
Over on IMDB, another platform where trolls reign unchallenged by the administrators, Pro Bono is currently at a low 7.4 out of 10.
With most ratings on IMDB being unreliable, however, it’s just another rating to ignore.
In other words, as I caution every week, please don’t make your drama choices based on ratings on any site.
I have watched some terrible K-dramas that are rated ridiculously high, and others that were incredibly low that turned out to be an incredibly fun watch. (I’m talking about you King the Land, which was another target of ignorant trolls on both IMDB and MDL, and fell as low as 1.0 out of 10 at one point with platform administrators doing nothing to stop it).
So yep, ignore the ratings and watch K-dramas you think you might like.
The next episode of Pro Bono , which stars Jung Kyung Ho, So Ju Yeon, Yoon Na Moo, Seo Hye Won and Kang Hyung Suk, airs on Saturday, December 20th. Let’s see how it fares then.
Update: Episode 8 just aired on December 29th to the K-drama’s highest ratings so far, and only a squeak away from hitting double digits.
