As someone who loves a good story about the law, I have got to say new tvN drama Pro Bono has been checking all my legal-themed requirements since its first episode premiered on December 6th.
Now, with last night’s ratings for Pro Bono skyrocketing to their highest yet, it appears a huge number of K-drama viewers in South Korea agree with me.
That nationwide rating for Pro Bono, Episode 8 on Sunday night then was 9.09 percent, which was a massive jump from the 6.09 percent the Jung Kyung Ho-led series earned on Saturday.
The Korean drama was even more successful with viewers watching in Seoul as, in that region, it grabbed 9.48 percent versus the show’s 6.15 percent on Saturday and, thus, just a few points away from garnering its very first double digit rating in the area.
Pro Bono, Episode 8 was also the #1 show in its time slot across all cable channels.
International ratings are absurdly low
Meanwhile, ignore the crazy low 7.9 rating Pro Bono is earning from users of My Drama List, and the stupidly low 6.7 out of 10 the trolls that frequent IMDB are awarding the tvN drama as both sites’ ratings are unreliable at this point.
After all, both ratings will increase quite markedly once the show has finished its run, and the trolls have moved on to another drama to wreck, so don’t even consider taking them seriously.
With its strong writing, solid performances by the entire cast, and superb directing, the K-drama deserves an 8.5 out of 10 at least. And anyone watching who isn’t trolling the show knows it.
Pro Bono stars Jung Kyung Ho, So Joo Yeon, Lee Yoo Young, Yoon Na Moo, Seo Hye Won, and Kang Hyung Seok.
The K-drama streams internationally on Netflix, where it is currently in the Top 10 on the streaming platform in 10 countries, and has four more episodes still to air.
