Our Unwritten Seoul EP4 grabs highest ratings yet as international viewers rave about its writing and plot

Great news out of South Korea for fans of the ongoing tvN drama Our Unwritten Seoul, and that includes me, as Episode 4 aired on Sunday night to its highest ratings yet.
According to data via Nielsen Korea, the Korean drama’s latest nationwide rating last night was at 5.89 percent.
That is substantially up from its Saturday night rating of 4.52 percent for Episode 3 but, honestly, to be expected seeing as how good the Park Bo Young-headed IP has turned out to be.
Meanwhile, viewers in Seoul tuned into the coming-of-age romance drama in even higher numbers, earning Our Unwritten Seoul, Episode 4 an audience share of 6.53 percent.
Again, markedly higher than the 5.41 percent the Korean drama garnered for its previous episode.
Both ratings meant the tvN drama was also the #1 watched show in its time slot.
International viewers also rating Our Unwritten Seoul high
It also appears K-drama fans watching Our Unwritten Seoul from overseas are also thrilled with what it is delivering so far.
Over on MDL, for instance, the Korean drama is currently receiving a very high 8.6 out of 10, and an 8.5 out of 10 via IMDB, while Flix Patrol is also showing it performing extremely well on Netflix.
According to them, Our Unwritten Seoul was in the Netflix Top 10 in 45 countries, which means it will likely be high up that platform’s Top 10 Non-English TV Show chart when it is released tomorrow.
International viewers are also commenting positively about the Korean drama on social media, with one viewer complimenting the writing:
Some amazing life lessons in this drama…..the compassion of the restaurant owner and what about that supportive chat from Gramma. I was in tears.
while another stresses how well the Korean drama is approaching the social issues many in the Asian society are currently dealing with:
This may prove to be one of the best drama this half of the year. It hits on the raw nerves of dealing with social pressures and challenges precisely in everyday life faced by the young. Excellent so far. Life is not about winning.
Meanwhile, an X user quoted one of last night’s conversations in the Korean drama, stating how relevant it was to their life:
“You think too much. The more you think, the more you lose track of time. 99% of those thoughts are useless. Thinking about the past only brings regret, and thinking about the future only brings anxiety.”
Really needed to hear this, how timely :’)
The Korean drama is directed by Park Shin Woo (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay), and written by Lee Kang (Youth of May).
It stars Park Bo Young in a dual role as twins Mi Ji and Mi Rae, alongside Park Jin Young, and Ryu Kyung Soo, and with an excellent supporting cast that includes Jang Young Nam, Cha Mi Kyung, Yoo Yoo Jin and Im Chul Soo.
The next episode of Our Unwritten Seoul drops on Netflix internationally on June 7th.
