Once Upon a Witch’s Death, Episode 10 teaser trailer also drops
There’s a beautiful new climax visual out for the ongoing fantasy anime Once Upon a Witch’s Death.
The visual dropped earlier today on the Once Upon a Witch‘s Death X account, with a message reminding viewers, as we head into the anime’s last three episodes, what will be happening next:
The story leaves the city of Lapis and moves to the Aquamarine arc! What awaits Meg, whose world has expanded through magic?
The anime’s latest visual shows Meg hanging out on her broomstick in Aquamarine as snowy owl Shirofukurou flies in, Carbuncle sits on her head, and Inori and Sophie look up from below. Cute, eh?
Episode 10 drops on Tuesday, June 3rd, with a very short teaser trailer for the upcoming episode also releasing. (see below)
The synopsis for Episode 10 that came with the trailer explains:
Meg visits the water city of Aquamarine to meet Jack, the “Philosopher of Life,” who offers to treat her foot.
There, she learns the true reason why she was taken in by Faust and why she was called to this city.
Once Upon a Witch’s Death production details
The anime is adapted from the light novel series of the same name written by Saka and illustrated by Chorefuji, which now has four volumes out in Japanese.
Its English version is published by Yen Press, with just one volume out so far — Volume 1, The Tale of the One Thousand Tears of Joy — and no word yet on when Volume 2 will drop.
The novel’s anime adaptation is being directed by Atsushi Nigorikawa (A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring), with Keiichirō Ōchi (The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom) in charge of series composition and scripts.

It is being animated by EMT Squared (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear).
As for its plot, Volume 1 of the original Japanese light novel describes it like this:
“You’ll die in a year, because of the curse.” “Huh?”
It’s her 17th birthday. Apprentice witch Meg is told by her master, the long-time witch Faust, how much time she has left to live. The only way to break the curse is to collect a thousand people’s tears of joy and create a “Seed of Life.”
In order to collect tears, Meg expands her closed world and interacts with many people. Encounters, farewells, friendship, love – and tears.
After receiving many feelings and pledging promises, Meg learns important things as a witch and realizes what her master wants to bestow upon her.
The first nine episodes of Once Upon a Witch’s Death are now streaming on Crunchyroll.
