New ‘Champignon Witch’ trailer, visual, cast member drop – Lize arrives in Luna’s life

The enchanting world of Champignon Witch will soon be blooming on screens everywhere!
Ahead of its January 2026 premiere, the upcoming anime just dropped a main trailer and a brand-new key visual on its X account, along with some exciting cast updates that may just have voice acting fans buzzing.
Joining the magical lineup is Yuuki Sakakihara (Nanaki in The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt), who will voice protagonist Luna’s apprentice wizard Lize.
He’ll be performing alongside Haruka Shiraishi (Hime in Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess), who brings the ostracized but still curious to watch other people’s lives witch Luna to life.
The anime’s pretty new key visual features both characters, while the new Champignon Witch trailer (below) gives us a hint of how Lize arrived in Luna’s life.

Champignon Witch is based on the fantasy manga written and illustrated by Tachibana Higuchi. The manga does not have an official English translation. At least as of yet.
Behind the scenes, the anime adapted from it is helmed by director Yousuke Kubo (Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools).
Yuuko Kakihara (Blue Box) is handling series composition, ensuring a lovely blend of heart, and whimsy, while Miki Matsumoto (Summertime Render) is creating character designs that, from her past work, should add a soft, fairy-tale glow to the magical world.
TYPHOON GRAPHICS (Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion) and studio Qzil.la (Enter the Garden) are animating.
The story of Champignon Witch tells the story of Luna, and looks like this:
Deep in the Black Forest, the black witch Luna lives in a house made of poisonous mushrooms. Poisonous mushrooms grow wherever she touches or walks, and even her breath contains poisonous spores, so no one goes near her.
But then this lonely witch has a dreamlike encounter…
With its touching story, lush forest and pretty village setting, and enchanting art style, Champignon Witch may just be one of 2026’s most delightful fantasy anime premieres.
Look out for it in January, 2026.
