It appears Moonlit Reunion‘s female lead Wu Zhen, played by Tian Xi Wei, is not as popular as male lead Mei Zhu Yu, played by Xu Kai. At least just yet. (Update – September 1st: She has now passed 50 million points less than a week later).
After all, while Xu Kai’s Mei Zhu Yu has just exceeded 50 million character popularity points on Tencent Video today, it was announced this morning that Tian Xi Wei’s Wu Zhen has just earned 10 million.
Then again, it’s often the case that the male lead is more popular than the female lead as, newsflash, more women watch wuxia dramas than men.
Tian Xi Wei’s Wu Zhen has just exceeded 10 million character popularity points, though, which isn’t something to shake a stick at, with Tencent Video congratulating the actress this morning with a celebratory poster and a comment to Chinese fans:

Meanwhile, while international fans on social media and online forums are raving about Xu Kai’s performance in Moonlit Reunion, and seem to like Tian Xi Wei well enough, the drama itself has drastically different ratings depending on what platform you consider.

On My Drama List (MDL), Moonlit Reunion currently has a very low 7.6 out of 10 from over 1,000 users, while IMDB viewers (albeit only 41 of them) are currently rating it a much higher 8.6 out of 10.
According to comments, the low MDL rating is due to the drama featuring a stagnating plot, with a number of viewers also commenting even after numerous episodes, it’s just “not grabbing my attention”.

Honestly, I can’t comment on that yet, as I have only completed Episode 2 so far. But yay, Tian Xi Wei’s Wu Zhen has grabbed 10 million character popularity points!!!
