Mao Zi Jun and Zhou Jie Qiong’s A Forbidden Marriage gets new poster – C-drama finally premieres this week

It has been a long time since the historical fantasy romance drama A Forbidden Marriage was filmed (August 2, 2021 to October 15, 2021 to be precise) and it is only this month that it is finally getting its premiere on iQIYI.
Yep, almost five years since filming ended and A Forbidden Marriage is finally seeing the light of day. Yay eh!?
Along with confirmation of its premiere date this week, iQIYI has also released a new poster featuring the drama’s main cast of characters.
A Forbidden Marriage cast and plot
The Chinese drama (aka 明月入卿怀) stars Mao Zi Jun (Melody of Golden Age), Zhou Jie Qiong (Love in Pavilion), Zhang Xin (Moonlight Mystique) and Li Jiu Lin (Inescapable).
The 24-episode C-drama is directed by He Hong Hui (Echo of Her Voice), and was produced by iQIYI.
Baidu Baike explains its plot in this manner:
The enchanting and ruthless Holy Flame Sect’s Saintess, Wang Yue (played by Zhou Jie Qiong), narrowly escapes death and reinvents herself as a destitute orphan, determined to fulfill her long-held wish: to win the heart of the righteous sect’s elder, Yang Qing (Mao Zi Jun).
With this goal in mind, the reborn Wang Yue unexpectedly crosses paths with Yang Qing, and the two gradually grow closer. Ultimately, they join forces to vanquish the true great evil, reconcile the Holy Flame Sect with the righteous sects, and restore peace to the martial world.
A Forbidden Marriage will be streaming via iQIYI international starting on August 17th.
