M.A.O joins Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! cast – new visual and premiere date released

Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! premiere announced for July 10th
If you are a fan of the superb Japanese voice actress M.A.O (and who isn’t), you will be thrilled to know she was just named as a new member of the cast of upcoming fantasy anime Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! earlier today.
Her addition to the Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! cast is just one in a long line of roles M.A.O. has played over the last more than a decade, including Iris in Fire Force, Shion in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Pecorine in Princess Connect! Re:Dive, and Tachibana in Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout.
In the upcoming Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer!, M.A.O. will be voicing Claire, the Empire’s 2nd Princess. Claire’s character design was also released and, yep, she is super cute!
M.A.O. commented on her excitement about playing a new character, while explaining a little bit about who she is:
My name is M.A.O and I will be playing the role of Claire.
The main character, Lloyd, believes he is not talented enough. The contrast in attitude between him and his friends who are aware of his extraordinary abilities is funny and addictive, I think it’s a story that will make you chuckle!
Claire is a girl with a kind and elegant aura, and I thought her reactions when she encounters something she doesn’t know were very cute. I will do my best to portray her in the anime so that the charm depicted in the original work is fully expressed!
Along with M.A.O’s involvement in the new fantasy series, the anime’s X account also gave us a heads up that the first episode will drop on July 11th.
Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! production details
While it may seem like there is a slew of fantasy anime coming out in the Summer, 2025 season, this is one of the ones I think will be a standout.
Especially if studio Felix Film animates it correctly, and the script is decent.
I say that as Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! is based on a nicely-written light novel series by Sora Suigetsu and illustrated by DeeCHA that features a cool protagonist, a very well-developed plot, and characters you actually care about.
Sure, most of them are cute girls, but I am certainly not averse to that. Particularly when their character development is done well too.
The Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! anime adaptation is being directed by Hiroshi Tamada (Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement), with Akihiko Inari (Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World…) providing series composition, and Yuuta Itou (Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World..) designing the characters.
Yep, animation studio Felix Film has gathered the same team who created the Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement anime to create Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! as well.
But, as that one was also nicely animated and decently written, I have no problem with that either.
The Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer! plot goes like this, by the way:
“We don’t need a white mage who lacks skill.”
One day, Lloyd, a white mage, is expelled from the hero’s party. Although he is jobless, he happens to accompany an S-rank party on a quest. At this time, no one knows that the hero’s party will fall apart and Lloyd will gain fame.
Lloyd thinks of himself as normal, but he is unconsciously invincible!
