In the last 35 hours, I have binge-watched all 16 episodes of the Korean comedy drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and I can honestly say it is one of the best series I have ever watched.
Seriously. Not joking. Not being hyperbolic.
Just one of the best series I have ever watched and, after seeing more than 100 Korean dramas over the years, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha now sits firmly in my top spot.
Along with the funny, quirky and adorable characters (all of them), the beautiful Korean seaside town (Pohang, South Korea) the series was filmed in, and the touching and often hilarious plot, the Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha soundtrack also makes this Korean drama superb.
A Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha soundtrack that includes Car, the Garden’s song ‘Romantic Sunday‘ — the Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha theme song — a song I have had on repeat on Spotify for days now.
Car, the Garden’s ‘Romantic Sunday‘ made it to #97 on the Korean Circle chart at the time of its release in late 2021, and has almost 18 million plays on Spotify and almost 4 million on YouTube.
No wonder, as ‘Romantic Sunday‘ is upbeat, catchy and has the prettiest melody that just makes you feel happy.
Car, the Garden, by the way is 31-year-old South Korean singer songwriter Cha Jung-won (차정원).
He has released three full-length albums, a couple of EPs and a slew of singles.
The Korean singer has also contributed songs to almost a dozen Korean drama soundtracks, with Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha‘s theme song ‘Romantic Sunday‘ being one of his latest.

A series, by the way, that is not only one of the highest-rated shows in Korean television history, but also one of the biggest hits Netflix has ever had.
