The still to-be-updated with a Season 3 donghua Heaven Official’s Blessing may not be getting a third season any time soon (Chinese government censorship really does a number on the stories Chinese animators/filmmakers are allowed to tell, doesn’t it?), but it did at least get a beautiful 5-Year Anniversary visual earlier today.
Yep, it is five years since the love story between our beloved Xie Lian, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Xianle and Hua Cheng (aka Crimson Rain Sought Flower), ghost king and one of the Great Calamities, aired the final episode of its first season.
Since then, Season 2 of the Heaven Official’s Blessing donghua aired/streamed from October 18th, 2023 to January 17th, 2024 but, as yet, a third season has not been announced.
Today’s Heaven Official’s Blessing 5-Year Anniversary visual, of course, features Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, and comes with a message from the official X account for the donghua:

The account also dropped two animated sequences.
One an animated version of the donghua’s celebratory visual (see above), and the second a short video featuring some of the symbols/people/events in Heaven Official’s Blessing — including a brief glimpse of White No-Face, the most powerful of the four Great Calamities, and Xie Lian enemy (watch below).

Happy 5th anniversary to all the wonderful characters from Heaven Official’s Blessing, but especially to Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, and keep your fingers crossed that a Season 3 will eventually be produced.
Which Chinese actor voices Xie Lian in Heaven Officials’ Blessing, and who voices Hua Cheng?
