Delicious in Dungeon 2nd cour visual stars Thistle, Lord of the Dungeon as trailer intros new friends

KADOKAWA has released a new Delicious in Dungeon trailer and key visual as a heads up for what we can expect in the comedy fantasy’s second cour, which kicks off on April 4th, 2024
As you might expect, the third Delicious in Dungeon trailer is full of the amazing food we have been treated to since Episode 1 of the now-hit anime kicked off on January 4th.
It also gives us hints of what may happen when Laios’ party heads back into the dungeon, after they decided to return to town to replenish supplies in the just-released Episode 13.
Several of the Delicious in Dungeon second cour’s new cast and characters are also introduced — Mitsuho Kanbe as Izutsumi, Yoko Hikasa as Maizuru, Akari Kito as Benichidori, and Yoshino Furuya as Inutade — along with snippets of the anime’s 2nd cour theme songs.
They are Unmei by sumika, the new opening theme song, and Kirakira no Hai by Regal Lily, its second ending theme.
Delicious in Dungeon, 2nd cour visual has Thistle, the Lord of the Dungeon looming over Laios and friends
The Delicious in Dungeon second cour key visual, which was created by character designer Naoki Takeda, is as powerful as the others.
But this time, although it features all the characters we love, they are overshadowed by the Lunatic Magician, aka Thistle, Lord of the Dungeon, towering above them.
The smash hit Delicious in Dungeon anime series is directed by Yoshihiro Miyajima (SSSS.Dynazenon assistant director) and produced by Studio TRIGGER.
It stars voice actors Kentarou Kumagai as Laios, Sayaki Senbongi as Marcille, Asuna Tomari and Chilchuck, and Hiroshi Naka as Senshi.
Yen Press is publishing the manga series the anime is based on in English, and they have this to say about the Delicious in Dungeon plot:
When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member!
They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way!
But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
