Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Season 6 just got confirmed
It’s official. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? — yep, the series with the long name we all just call DanMachi — has been confirmed for Season 6.
And as someone who has been following Bell Cranel’s journey for years now, this announcement feels both surreal and incredibly exciting.
The news dropped on February 7th, 2026, during the anime’s 10th Anniversary event (titled Aedes Vesta – Sacred Flame’s Path) in Japan along with a teaser video (see below). A video that’s rather vague but…I’d expect that, wouldn’t you?
But, yep, 10 years. Let that sink in for a second.
As, during that time, Bell went from being a terrified rookie who could barely survive the lower floors of the dungeon to becoming one of Orario’s most important adventurers.
And watching that evolution has been one of the most satisfying long-term character arcs in modern anime, hasn’t it?
This anime just refuses to slow down
When Season 1 of DanMachi first aired back in 2015, I don’t think anyone expected it to become such a long-running fantasy staple.
After all, at first glance, it looked like another fantasy adventure with a slightly goofy title. But what kept people invested wasn’t just the dungeon crawling. It was Bell himself.
He started off weak, naive, and honestly kind of awkward. But that’s exactly what made his growth feel real. Every victory felt earned. Every loss mattered. And every season raised the stakes.
Season 5 especially proved the series still has plenty of story left to tell.
Without spoiling anything, just in case you haven’t yet watched it, the events of that season changed the political and emotional balance of Orario in ways that make a continuation feel absolutely necessary.
So when Season 6 was announced, it didn’t feel like a cash-grab sequel. It felt like the next chapter that obviously had to happen.
The timing makes sense
One thing long-time fans know is that DanMachi closely follows the light novels written by Fujino Omori.
The anime can’t move forward unless there’s enough source material to adapt properly. And now that the light novels have progressed further into Bell’s story, it makes sense that the anime is ready to continue.
What’s especially exciting is that the upcoming arcs are known for raising both the emotional stakes and the scale of the conflicts. Bell isn’t just trying to prove himself anymore as he’s becoming a central figure in a much bigger story.
In other words, this isn’t rookie Bell anymore. This is a Bell who has seen loss, responsibility, and what it truly means to be a hero.
And I’m all in for it.

No release date for Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Season 6 and that’s okay too
Right now, there’s no confirmed release date for Season 6. And honestly, I’m fine with that.
As, let’s face it, if there’s one thing the later seasons have shown, it’s that the production team takes its time to deliver something meaningful.
Rushing it would only hurt both the story and the quality of the animation. And the fabulous DanMachi deserves a proper continuation, especially now that we’re getting closer to the deeper parts of Bell’s journey.
In the meantime, the teaser announcement alone is enough to remind fans that the story is far from over.

It’s wild to think how far we’ve come
There’s something special about following an anime series for this long. You grow attached to the characters. You remember where they started. You feel the weight of everything they’ve been through.
And that’s why we all know Bell isn’t just chasing strength anymore. He’s chasing purpose.
Season 6 represents more than just another season. It’s proof that this story still has something important left to say.
And honestly?
I’ll be there on day one when it finally premieres. Won’t you?
For now then, we fans can look forward to future trailers, staff announcements, and release information as production on Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Season 6 continues.
We’ll give you a heads up here at Baozi Buns when they drop.
And, of course, if you’re far behind on the first five seasons of DanMachi, or haven’t even started it at all, you can watch all five seasons on HIDIVE.
