Speed and Love character posters feature all main characters
The new Esther Yu and He Yu-led romance drama Speed and Love had a surprise drop on iQIYI today, with the Chinese streaming service also releasing 8 character posters and an official main cast poster promoting its latest drama.
Nope, none of us expected that (although, earlier in the week, rumor out of China was that Speed and Love would be releasing on December 12th and, yep, here we are).

TheĀ Speed and Love character posters are of Esther Yu, He Yu, Fei Qi Ming, Mike Angelo, Sun Mei Lin, Li Ao, Guan Zi Jing, and special guest star Casper (aka Zhong Ze Xiang), and also came with a full main cast poster.
Now personally, I am not a fan of Esther Yu as, to me, it’s odd to hear a 29-year-old woman with a voice like a 12-year-old and that usually acts that way as well.

But, I am giving Love and Speed a go as Hu Ye is always superb in his roles (he was one of my two faves in Dashing Youth) and, just 10 minutes into the first episode, the drama is filmed in an area of Bangkok I know like the back of my hand (I lived there for 15 years).
The cinematography too is beautifully done, so for shots of Bangkok alone, I just may enjoy this. And who knows, Esther Yu may grow on me (although she hadn’t by the end of Episode 1 – shrug).

Speed and Love production information
The drama itself is co-directed by Yu Chung Chung (Eat Run Love) and Zhao Xiao Le (The Forbidden Flower). Zhao also wrote the scripts.
The C-drama’s first episodes, by the way, mainly take place in Bangkok (a very nice change for a Chinese drama) with a move back to Nanjing, China later in the series. Its synopsis looks like this:
Jiang Mu (played by Esther Yu) grows up with her mother after her parents divorce in her early years. As an adult, she flies alone to the Thailand to search for her father Jin Qiang and her older brother Jin Chao (played by He Yu). The two are not biological siblings. Instead, Jin Chao was adopted by Jin Qiang as a child, and Jin Qiang took him away after the divorce. Jin Chao’s life now is filled with danger and uncertainty.
As time goes by, Jiang Mu gradually integrates into Jin Chao’s world and discovers the warmth hidden beneath his aloof exterior. After going through certain experiences, both of them bravely acknowledge the feelings in their hearts. However, an unexpected incident leads to them losing contact.
Years later, they reunite in Nanjing, where the long-buried truth finally comes to light, and the misunderstandings and secrets from all those years ago are revealed.

Six episodes of the 29-episode Chinese romance drama are now out on iQIYI, with new episodes being released every night at 6pm Beijing Time through December 28th.
Enjoy the cast posters, and let’s see how it goes then, eh?
