Would You Marry Me Ep 12 earns SUBSTANTIAL ratings rise – ends series as #1 mini-series on Saturday

Would You Marry Me, Episode 12 goes out with a proverbial bang
Having seen the excellent ratings for the penultimate episode of K-drama Would You Marry Me on Saturday morning, I cannot say I am surprised to see just how well the SBS series performed with its series finale last night.
Data out of Nielsen Korea shows Would You Marry Me, Episode 12 ended the Korean drama on a very nice boost, grabbing 9.1 percent of the nationwide audience on Saturday compared to the already excellent 7.9 percent it garnered for Episode 11.
Would You Marry Me, Episode 12 also performed even better in Seoul, with audiences in that region causing it to earn 9.6 percent of the audience share, compared to the 8.6 percent it grabbed for its previous episode.
Substantial ratings rises for the K-drama’s final episode then, and very well-deserved.
Both ratings also meant the Korean drama was the #1 most-watched mini-series of the day, and the #2 most-watched show for all of Saturday, with only KBS2’s Our Golden Days weekend drama outperforming Would You Marry Me with its 13.2 percent national rating.

Of course, as you would probably expect for the ratings on that Asian drama site I will no longer name due to many of their ratings being taken over by trolls, even after that excellent final episode, Would You Marry Me is still earning a too low 7.9 out of 10.
The equally troll-ridden site, IMDB, has the drama with an even lower 7.7 out of 10 when, by rights, it deserves a rating in the low 8.0s.
Of course, the Korean drama has continued to perform extremely well on Disney+, where ratings don’t count but actual viewership numbers do, and where Would You Marry Me has now ended its 12-episode run on the streaming platform in the Top 5 in five countries.
It was also the #1 most-watched show of the day in Singapore.
Chances are it would have been in the Top 5 in other countries as well, if it was actually available on Disney+ in most of Europe and parts of Asia.
In other words, as I always warn, NEVER make a decision about watching an Asian drama based on the ratings on any website.
Especially as viewership numbers tend to be more accurate when it comes to a drama’s actual worth.
Would You Marry Me stars the excellent main leads Choi Woo Shik and Jung So Min, with all 12 episodes now streaming on Disney+ or on Viki depending on your region.
Now, would I recommend it?
Honestly while, admittedly, the Korean rom-com isn’t anything out of the ordinary, it is a well-produced, directed and acted, and very fun watch? So yep. If that’s what you are looking for in a K-drama. Absolutely.

As for what is coming next in the same SBS Friday-Saturday time slot, that would be Taxi Driver 3, and I probably don’t even have to tell you that that will be a big hit.
