Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun has left her agency IEUM HASHTAG after three years of being signed by them.
Interestingly, the agency themselves responded to the news by saying they had decided not to renew Jun Ji Hyun’s contract, right before her latest drama Tempest is set to drop on Disney+.
“The exclusive contract with Jun Ji Hyun has ended,” adding, “We have decided not to renew the contract.”
All I can say is, when it comes to contracts with agencies, its usually the agency that loses out by not renewing a contract and not the actor, as the actor generally moves on to a better agency.
That is also likely to occur here as, not only is Jun Ji Hyun one of the most beautiful women in South Korea and in high demand as a celebrity endorser — with recent contracts with companies like Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Piaget.
Her dramas tend to perform extremely well too.

Meanwhile, the 42-year-old actress is making her K-drama comeback in Tempest after starring in her most recent Korean drama Jirisan way back in 2021.
Yep, she likely needs a better agency that can get her more jobs, right?
Jun Ji Hyun co-stars in Tempest alongside film actor Kang Dong Won in his first role in a K-drama since 2004’s Magic.
The star-studded main cast also includes the wonderful Kim Hae Sook (Who is She), Lee Mi Sook (Queen of Tears), Yoo Jae Myung (Uncle Samsik), Park Hae Joon (When Life Gives You Tangerines), Oh Jung Se (Good Boy), Lee Sang Hee (Daily Dose of Sunshine), Joo Hung Hyuk (Unmasked), Won Ji An (Squid Game, Season 2) and John Cho in his first ever K-drama.
Tempest tells the story of Mun Ju (played by Jun Ji Hyun), a former ambassador to the U.S. who finds herself in a dangerous situation when she discovers an assassination plot.
San Ho (Kang Dong Won), an elite mercenary, joins Mun Ju in her quest to find out the truth about both South Korean and North Korean possible involvement in the plot.
No word yet on when Tempest is due to premiere, but it should be soon.
