Resident Playbook EP8 grabs highest rating yet with just 4 more episodes left to air

With just four more episodes left to premiere, Korean drama Resident Playbook, Episode 8 aired last night to its highest ratings yet — both from audiences in Seoul and nationwide.
According to data via Nielsen Korea, Resident Playbook, Episode 8 earned a nationwide audience share of 5.97 percent — nicely up from its previous all-time high of 5.53 percent for Episode 6.
The Korean hospital-themed drama performed even better in Seoul where the viewership was 6.38 percent, compared to its previous high of 6.06 percent for Episode 6.
It was also the number 1 show in its time slot last night.
So, yep, congratulations to the excellent director, cast and crew, eh?
Resident Playbook on Netflix and via international viewer ratings
Resident Playbook, titled 언젠가는 슬기로울 전공의생활 in Korean, has also been getting a great response from international viewers.
It is still earning a high (for that site) 8.4 out of 10 on My Drama List and, for the week of April 21st to 27th, 2025 was also still on the Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart on Netflix.
While the latest rankings will be released by Netflix tomorrow, it also appears the K-drama will still be in the Top 10 as streaming platform data collecting site FlixPatrol is currently reporting it was in the Top 10 yesterday in 17 countries, and in the Top 5 in 7 of those countries.
Resident Playbook is directed by Lee Min Soo (Heartbeat), and written by Kim Song Hee, who also wrote its predecessor Hospital Playlist.
The Korean drama stars Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Han Ye Ji, Kang You Seok, and Jung Joon Won.
It ends its 12-episode run on May 18th.
