Moon Ga Young will be female lead in the upcoming tvN legal series
Back in October, we told you German-Korean actress Moon Ga Young was in talks to star in the upcoming tvN drama Law and the City.
According to Korean news media, those talks were incredibly productive, with Moon Ga Young now set to take the spotlight as the female lead in the upcoming tvN legal drama.
A drama that promises to be a fresh and exciting series that delves into the dynamic, real-world journeys of young lawyers.
Law and the City, which is directed by Park Seung Woo (Kairos), and written by Lee Seung Hyun, is an engaging youth drama that follows the daily lives of a group of lawyers working in the legal hub of Seocho-dong.
Rooted in reality and penned by a former lawyer, the series offers an authentic look at the personal and professional growth of young lawyers, exploring their challenges, triumphs, and everything in between.
What is the plot of Law and the City?
In the drama, Moon Ga Young takes on the role of Kang Hui Ji, a first-year lawyer who has just finished her probation at a top law firm.
Hui Ji is a charismatic, outgoing woman with a no-nonsense attitude. So much so, she’s refreshingly honest and unafraid to speak her mind, whether she is feeling on top of the world or struggling to keep up.
With a cheerful disposition that wins over everyone she meets, Hee Ji’s decision to pursue a law career, even if the law may not be her first love, was driven by her desire to protect those she loves.
She envisions herself as a lawyer who not only solves legal issues but also touches her clients’ hearts. She is driven, passionate, and ready to take on any challenge that comes her way.
Moon Ga Young’s career
28-year-old Germany-born Moon Ga Young has already won a big fan base with her performances in hit dramas like Find Me in Your Memory, and Understanding Love.
Even, to some extent, becoming an international favorite with the now almost-cult hit True Beauty.
Early on in her career, she also gave superb performances in films like Salut d’Amour and Killer Toon.
Now, playing Kang Hui Ji in Law and the City, Moon Ga Young is set to bring her superb acting skills to the role, portraying a bold and spirited young lawyer navigating the ups and downs of her career.
Alongside Moon Ga Young, Lee Jong Suk (Romance is a Bonus Book) has also confirmed his role as Ahn Joo Hyung in the upcoming Korean drama, with Ryu Hye Young (Adult Kids) said to still be in talks for another main role.
