Moon Ga Young, Lee Jong Suk in talks to star in Law and the City – Here’s what we know so far

Korean-German actress Moon Ga Young (True Beauty) is joining actor Lee Jong Suk (Romance is a Bonus Book) in talks to star in the upcoming drama Law and the City.
And, while Korean news media was initially reporting Moon Ga Young had accepted a part in the new series, her agency PEAK J Entertainment was quick to correct the reports, giving the usual response “She is positively reviewing an offer to star in the drama”.
Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk was reported as also in talks to head up the drama’s main cast in September.
What we know about Law and the City (aka Seocho-Dong)
Seocho-dong is the literal translation of the Korean title 서초동.
With it not being a particularly catchy or memorable title in English, however, that is likely to change as production on the new drama begins.(Update: It did, with the Korean drama now being known as Law and the City).
We do know Law and the City is being directed by Park Seung Woo, director of The Guardians, Spring Turns to Spring and Kairos.
As for the Kdrama’s plot, JTBC News describes it like this:
‘Seocho-dong’ tells the story of lawyers in a law firm.
Kang Hee Ji is a second-year lawyer at the law firm Johwa, who lives by the belief that if you change one life, you have changed the world.
She is a character who is confident and honest about herself, whether she is lacking or overflowing with skills.
Combining her optimistic personality with Moon Ga Young’s charm should create a very attractive character to watch.
Lee Jong Suk is currently considering accepting the role of Ahn Joo Hyung, a nine-year veteran at Kyungmin, another law firm.
No more information about Law and the City has been released as yet except to say that, once production begins, the Korean drama is scheduled to premiere some time in 2025.
