Black Out, Ep 2 earns steady ratings – international viewers reviewing it very positively

Michelle Topham August 18, 2024

The second episode of the ongoing MBC drama Black Out, aka Snow White Must Die, aired last night to steady ratings.

Ratings that almost mirrored the Korean drama’s audience share for its first episode the night before.

According to Nielsen Korea, Black Out, Episode 2 earned 2.7 percent of the nationwide audience, which is only down .10 percent from its first episode’s 2.8 percent on Friday night.

When you consider Black Out is airing at the same time as the massively successful Good Partner, which is grabbing a huge part of the audience, that rating is excellent.

International viewers rating Black Out overwhelmingly positively

Ratings for Black Out by international viewers have also increased on My Drama List.

They have moved from a crazy low 7.7 out of 10 after Episode 1 (there are too many trolls on MDL that down rate the first episode of many dramas, so the website’s first ratings are not usually reliable) to today’s 8.0 out of 10 after its second episode aired.

Comments about the drama are also very positive, ranging from:

The first two episodes were captivating, dark, mysterious and heartbreaking. We all know that Jeongwoo isn’t a murderer. We all suspect that this village has a lot of secrets. Everyone is a suspect.

I was taken aback with the detective’s attitude after he was informed about Jeongwoo. Prejudice written all over his face. Glad that he realized by the end of ep2 that not everything is white or black.

Byun Yohan is doing a fantastic job so far. He portrays Jeongwoo’s messed state of mind so well. I haven’t read the book, but I am so intrigued by the plot that I ordered it in my local bookstore.

to

Oh my this is the kinda thriller to make the blood boil, and that’s why it’s very good already.

Black Out stars Byun Yo Han, Ko Jun, Go Bo Gyeol, and Kim Bo Ra.

It airs on MBC in South Korea every Friday and Saturday night at 21:50 (KST).

There is no word yet, unfortunately, as to where the Korean crime drama will stream internationally so, at this point, your only option to watch it outside Korea is on less-than-legal sites.

Hopefully, that will change soon, as this one is exceptionally good so far.
