The new MBC Friday/Saturday drama Black Out, aka Snow White Must Die, premiered last night to solid first ratings both nationally and in Seoul
Those ratings were 2.8 percent nationwide, and a slightly lower 2.6 percent from audiences in Seoul.
What is the Black Out plot?
The new MBC drama is based on the international best-selling German novel Snow White Must Die.
The Korean drama was previously screened at the 7th Cannes International Series Festival (aka the Canneseries), where it was praised for its plot, performances and direction.
The K-drama tells the story of Go Jung Woo (played by Byun Yo Han), a young medical student who is convicted of the murder of two girls. A murder he does not even remember committing. Found guilty, he then spends 10 years in prison.
When he is released, he comes back to his hometown where a series of strange events begin to occur.
As plots go, it is a good one, with the events of Episode 1 also starting the Korean drama well on its way to becoming a damn good thriller.
Black Out stars Byun Yo Han, Ko Jun, Go Bo Gyeol, and Kim Bo Ra.
Unfortunately, Black Out is not yet available to watch on any international platform so, until it is, you will have to be “creative” if you wish to watch what may turn out to be one of the best crime K-dramas of the year.
