The superb Korean actor Jo Jung Suk’s new movie Pilot has already passed 1 million admissions in just the first three days of its release.
The comedy film was released in South Korea on July 31st and, according to the Korean Film Council, surpassed 1.3 million admissions by this morning (August 3rd).
The official number of Pilot admissions so far is 1,339,707 via the Korean Film Council’s official website.
Pilot is currently showing on 1,954 screens, and has already grossed $8,805,522.
It is also #1 at the box office, and is the movie that has reached more than 1 million admissions the fastest this summer.
In response, Jo Jung Suk and the rest of the main cast gathered to celebrate the over 1 million admissions, with a video thanking the audience appearing on Lotte Entertainment’s official X account. (Watch below)

Pilot stars Jo Jung Suk (Captivating the King), Lee Ju Myung (Like Flowers in Sand), Han Sun Hwa (My Sweet Mobster), and Shin Seung Ho (Alchemy of Souls).
The Korean Film Council describe the film’s plot like this:
Jo Jung Suk portrays Han Jung Woo a former star pilot who resorts to disguising himself as a woman in a desperate bid to revive his declining career.
After losing his job due to sexist remarks, Jung-woo assumes his sister’s identity to work as a pilot for an airline again. Once hired, he becomes an instant hero for a successful emergency landing. However, things spiral out of control following his — or rather her — newfound fame.
