Bad Memory Eraser Ep 1 rating is low but it is up against the Olympics and does have 15 episodes left

MBN’s Bad Memory Eraser, Episode 1 kicked off last night to lower ratings than the other drama the network has released this year so far — Missing Crown Prince.
That lower rating, of course, is likely due to the ongoing Olympic Games and to MBN not doing a particularly good job promoting its new drama.
According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of Bad Memory Eraser earned just 1.04 percent of the nationwide audience share on Friday night, which is lower than the 1.45 percent the other MBN drama of 2024 – Missing Crown Prince — earned for its first episode.
Bad Memory Eraser, Episode 1 was also the only K-drama airing on Friday night in South Korea.
International ratings for Missing Crown Prince
Ratings for Missing Crown Prince from international viewers are currently completely different on the two main platforms we generally look at but, when you look closer at each platform, it quickly makes sense.
That’s because, as usual, it is a group of immature viewers that use My Drama List that have downrated the drama to a very low 7.2 out of 10 after just the first episode.
That is why you should never take a rating from My Drama List seriously until at least four episodes of any drama have been released, as the rage downvoters will often spoil its ratings when it first premieres.
Over on Viki, where Bad Memory Eraser is currently being streamed, the opposite problem is true — a too high rating of 9.6 out of 10 after the K-drama’s first episode.
Likely from fans of one of the main actors.
In other words, the real international rating for Bad Memory Eraser so far is probably somewhere in the middle of the two, and will change as more episodes are released.
Bad Memory Eraser stars Kim Jae Joong, Jin Se Yeon, Lee Jong Won, and Yang Hye Ji.
The Korean rom-com airs every Friday and Saturday night at 21:40 (KST) on MBN in South Korea, with Viki streaming it for its international subscribers.
