The SBS TV drama The Killing Vote, Episode 7 saw a huge drop in its rating last night in South Korea earning its lowest rating of the series yet.
According to the new numbers from Nielsen Korea, The Killing Vote, Episode 7 dropped a full percentage point from last week’s 4.10 percent nationwide to this week’s 3.10 percent of the audience share.
In Seoul, the SBS thriller saw an even larger drop with the latest episode falling to 3.00 percent of the audience share compared to last week’s 4.4 percent.
Both ratings put the drama in 15th place (nationwide) and 14th place (Seoul) respectively as it kicked off its second half.
Numbers that I am not actually that surprised about, as I said from the day the first episode aired The Killing Vote would likely struggle to get the numbers it deserves due to a strange decision by SBS to only air the drama once a week instead of the usual twice.
As it turns out, that situation may now be playing out.
The Killing Vote on Amazon Prime
Outside South Korea, however, the drama is still performing very well.
It is currently the #1 most watched show on the Amazon Prime Top 10 TV Shows list in Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The Killing Vote also is in the Top 10 TV shows in Benin, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
The Killing Vote is directed by Park Shin Woo (Trap), and was written by Jo Yoon Young (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo).
The drama stars Park Hae Jin, Park Sung Woong, and Im Ji Yeon, with Kim Yoo Mi, Shin Jung Keun, Kim Kwon, Choi Yoo Hwa, Seo Young Joo, Kwon Ah Reum, and Cha Rae Hyung in supporting roles.
The next episode of the drama will air next week on Thursday, September 28th at 21:00 (KST) on ENA in South Korea.
Here’s hoping the drama returns to its previously high ratings, as it honestly deserves a much better rating than this week’s.
