The art style in the Marriagetoxin key visual is gorgeous
Following on from the Marriagetoxin teaser trailer in September, the upcoming action anime has dropped its first main trailer today, along with a wildly vibrant key visual, and its April, 2026 premiere. Six cast members were also named.
The latest Marriagetoxin key visual features protagonists elite assassin Hikaru Gero and marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki.
As you’d expect then Hikaru is holding his signature syringe full of poison in the utterly gorgeous visual, while Mei has a wedding ring in her hand.
Yep. I think this couple will be brilliant fun.
The Marriagetoxin trailer has Hikaru planning to kill Mei
The first full Marriagetoxin trailer is as beautiful as the visual (man, I love that art style!) as its first scenes introduce Hikaru and Mei, as he stands over her with his poison syringe explaining to her how she will die.
Of course, things don’t actually head in that direction as Hikaru suddenly figures out Mei may be useful to him in another way. As his wife for instance.
Six new Marriagetoxin voice actors join the cast
Along with the short introduction to the plot, the trailer also introduces six of the anime’s main characters and their voice actors.
They join a cast that already includes Haruki Ishiya (Arthur in Mechanical Marie) as Hikaru Gero and Shion Wakayama (Momo in Dandadan) as Mei Kinosaki,
The six voice actors and their characters are:
- Anna Nagase (Riko in Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death) plays Kyoko Himekawa
- Asaki Yuikawa (Tokiyuki in The Elusive Samurai) voices Shiori Ureshino
- Hinano Shirahama (Sara in Hotel Inhumans) is Kimie Arashiyama
- Mariya Ise (Reg in Made in Abyss) voices Shizuku Ushio
- Souma Saitou (Kenshin in Rurouni Kenshin) is Genya Naruko
- Simba Tsuchiya (Nao in Ao no Orchestra) plays Pilchi Nakagawa
Each character has their own quirky personalities as well, as you will see in the trailer.

Production details for Marriagetoxin
Of course there are hundreds of people involved in bringing an anime series to the screen, but the basic production information for the action anime looks like this.
Motonobu Hori (director of Carole & Tuesday) is directing, with Kimiko Ueno (Eternal Boys) in charge of scripts and series composition, and Kohei Tokuoka (The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity) both designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.
Bones Film the astonishing animators of Gachiakuta are animating, so Marriagetoxin should be beautifully animated as they have done a bangup job with Gachiakuta (one of my Top 5 anime of this year).
Look out for MarriageToxin releasing in April, 2026, although doesn’t that seem like a hella long time still to wait for something that looks this good? It does to me.
