New You and I Are Polar Opposites key visual features the whole class
School-themed comedy romance anime You and I Are Polar Opposites (aka Seihantai na Kimi to Boku) got a cute new trailer today, along with the announcement of its premiere date – January 11th, 2026 in Japan.
An adorably upbeat key visual of a class selfie Watanabe is taking also dropped.
The new visual focuses on the bubbly Miyu Suzuki and her far more quiet classmate Yusuke Tani, who sit at a desk in the center of the picture while Satou crouches next to them.
But don’t worry, none of their other classmates were left out either, as the visual also has Taira, Azuma, Yamada, Nishi and Honda in the background smiling or looking embarrassed.

The new You and I Are Polar Opposites trailer
Meanwhile, the just-released anime trailer shows a comedy series populated by characters who have huge personalities, so this one should be fun.
After all, it’s not just protagonist Miyu Suzuki who seems to be absolutely nuts, but her classmates aren’t exactly shrinking violets either.
And, of course. we have Suzuki’s crush.
Her deskmate Yusuke Tani who, while he is quiet and keeps to himself, also doesn’t seem to care what other people think of him. Unlike Suzuki, who cares a lot.
But, it’s quickly obvious from the first few seconds of the You and I Are Polar Opposites trailer, although Suzuki and Tani are completely different types of people, she still has an enormous crush on him.
The trailer also introduces a snippet of the anime’s ending theme song “Pure feat. Eriko Hashimoto” by PAS TASTA.

The You and I Are Polar Opposites production details
The new trailer shows off an incredibly pretty art style, and decent looking animation.
That anime adaptation is based on the manga written and illustrated by Kōcha Agasawa.
It has eight volumes out in Japanese, with an English translation via VIZ Media with Volumes 1 through 6 out so far, and Volume 7 on pre-order for a November 4th release.
The school-themed rom-com is being directed by Takakazu Nagatomo (episode director of Wave, Listen to Me!), with Teruko Utsumi (Ryman’s Club) both animation producer and providing its series composition.
Mako Miyako is designing those cool looking characters, and Lapin Track, who did an excellent job animating Sarazanmai, is in charge of animation production.
Yep, I am all in for this one as it’s always great to see a comedy with characters who are cute, but who also leap off the screen as their personalities are larger than life.
Look out for You and I Are Polar Opposites dropping its first episodes in early January.
