The first season of the super power-themed anime Undead Unluck ended its run in late March, 2024 so it’s about time we got an update on what’s going on with Fuuko and Andy.
Thankfully, that update is on its way soon with Undead Unluck: Winter-hen. A one-hour special that is set to air on Christmas Day in Japan, and that has just dropped a new trailer and a bangin’ new visual.
That visual has Fuuko and Andy walking towards the camera, as Billy and Juiz fight in the background.
Yep, we’re now at that arc, we’re finally getting the full story of Billy and Tella’s past, and this is going to be amazing.

The Undead Unluck: Winter-hen trailer
The new Undead Unluck: Winter-hen trailer that has just dropped also gives us a look into that peak fight between Billy and Juiz.
From the snippets in the just-over-a-minute teaser, it actually looks like the change of studio from David Production to E&H Production hasn’t harmed the quality of this one at all.
Even if some of the characters do look slightly different.
The art style is also beautiful, the fight animation, if it’s like this in the finished anime, is brilliant, and the music really fits the action.
Japanese rock band Queen Bee is performing both the opening and ending themes.
All in all then, once you’ve watched the new Undead Unluck: Winter-hen trailer, you’ll probably be as excited as I am for this thing to drop already.
The Undead Unluck: Winter-hen production deets
Now this one has a somewhat different staff from the original anime series but, like I said, if it turns out as phenomenal as the trailer looks, I’m not complaining, are you?
E&H Production (animators of Bullet/Bullet) are the new animators, Seong-Hu Park (director of Ninja Kamui) is producing, taking over directing from Season 1’s Yuki Yase, and is also chief storyboard artist.
Gakuto Hajima (Fire Force) is back writing the screenplay, with character design by Season 1’s co-Chief Animation Director Shunichi Ishimoto and Hideyuki Morioka (character designer and co-Chief Animation Director for Season 1).
So there’s also some consistency as well.

Undead Unluck: Winter-hen is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka, and will start from Chapter 54 “Hope” of that series.
And yes, with 239 chapters of the manga in total, there is still a huge amount of material left for several more anime seasons.
Hopefully then, Undead Unluck: Winter-hen, isn’t the only continuation of the story that we’ll get, right?
