Typhoon Family, Episode 8 continues the K-drama’s rise
Continuing to go from strength to strength with each new episode released, tvN drama Typhoon Family, Episode 8 aired on Sunday night to yet more new all-time high ratings.
This occurred right after the K-drama earned its best ever Saturday ratings the night before.
Data via Nielsen Korea dropped a few hours ago, and shows Typhoon Family, Episode 8 grabbed 9.09% percent of the nationwide audience share — which is an excellent increase from the 8.24 percent of the viewership the Korean business-themed drama garnered on Saturday night.
It also performed exceptionally well with viewers in Seoul, earning 9.02 percent of that region’s audience, and just about a full percentage point up from Saturday’s rating of 8.05 percent.
Heading into its second half next week then, things look pretty darned rosy for the cast and crew of Typhoon Family, eh? And very well-deserved, I might add.
Now let’s see if the tvN drama can pass that double digits milestone with next week’s episodes, right?
International ratings still solid after Episode 8 airs
With international K-drama viewers often being quite fickle, I am always thrilled to see a superb drama like Typhoon Family continue to do well as it continues its run.
That’s why the Korean drama still earning a solid 8.2 out of 10 on My Drama List makes me happy.
As does its rating on IMDB, where it is still holding steady with an 8.1 out of 10.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart will be updated tomorrow, so let’s see if the Korean drama is still able to maintain its current #7 position on that chart or, hopefully, rise even further.
Typhoon Family is directed by Lee Na Jeong (See You In My 19th Life) and Kim Dong Hwi (The Tale of Nokdu), and stars Lee Jun Ho and Kim Min Ha.
It is set to run for 16 episodes, with its final episode currently scheduled to air on November 29th. You can watch all 8 released episodes on Netflix now.
Meanwhile, the latest Buzzworthy Dramas ranking is in for this week and, yep, Typhoon Family is at #1. Cool, right?
