The long-awaited second season of the donghua The Ravages of Time premiered today along with a cool new visual.
The adaptation of the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms had the first two episodes of its new season released this morning.
Both episodes are now available for VIP subscribers of Bilibili’s YouTube channel, while non-subscribers only have access to Episode 1.
Episode 2 will be available for them to watch on the same YouTube channel beginning January 25th.
Bilibili’s official X channel commented about The Ravages of Time, Season 2 premiere:
In the snowy haze, the smoke of war rises in chaotic times, as heroes vie for supremacy amidst the storm.
The new visual also gives a hint of just how dynamic and exciting the latest season is likely to be.
New episodes of the 16-episode historical action adventure donghua will release every Saturday at 11:00 am from now on.
The Ravages of Time production and release details
The Ravages of Time (aka Huo Feng Liao Yuan) was directed by Haiqing Fu (Wings of the World/Immortals of the Godless Age).
The Chinese anime series is based on the hit manhua (Chinese language comics) series by Chan Mou.
It stars Chinese voice actors Guangyi Du as Liao Yuan Huo, Jing Lin as Lu Bu, Huang Chen as Zhang Fei, Lei Shen as Sima Yi, Ke Jiang as Liu Bei, Qiu Jia as Yaun Shao, Jingtian Zheng as Dong Zhuo and Huasheng Wang as Zhang Lei.
It is animated by LX Animation Studios (Chunqiu Feng Shen), and co-produced by Bilibili and iDreamSky.
The ongoing Chinese donghua’s first episode premiered on April 29th, 2023 and ran until August 5th of the same year.
