The Divorce Insurance, Episode 1’s solid ratings kick off tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama

The latest tvN Monday/Tuesday K-drama The Divorce Insurance, Episode 1 kicked the series off on Monday night with solid ratings — nationwide and from audiences in Seoul.
Those ratings, via Nielsen Korea, weren’t anything spectacular but they did give the workplace-themed rom-com a great grounding to start from as its next 11 episodes air.
Nationwide, The Divorce Insurance, Episode 1 earned 3.23 percent of the viewership, while in Seoul the K-drama grabbed the slightly higher audience share of 3.61 percent.
The Korean drama was also #1 in its time slot.
What is The Divorce Insurance about?
The somewhat slapstick rom-com has quite an unusual plot compared to others of its ilk. It is also a superb vehicle for star Lee Dong Wook’s brilliant comedic skills.
The Korean rom-com follows Noh Ki Joon (played by Lee Dong Wook), a very successful insurance manager, but someone who is terrible at personal relationships. So much so, he is now divorced three times himself.
Divorces that have also caused him to lose a lot of money.
Because of this, he comes up with the idea of creating a new type of insurance — divorce insurance — as, obviously, with the divorce rate in South Korea rising, that is something many people would be interested in purchasing.
But, as he begins to create the new product with a group of co-workers, he also begins to look inside himself and more closely at what caused his own divorces. While, at the same time, he finds himself becoming attracted to one of his co-workers.
The Divorce Insurance stars Lee Dong Wook (Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938), Lee Joo Bin (Queen of Tears), Lee Kwang Soo (No Way Out: The Roulette), and Lee Da Hee (Love is for Suckers).

The Korean drama’s next episodes airs on tvN in South Korea tonight, with Amazon Prime Video streaming the K-drama internationally.
