Trailer and visual have Zenos, Carmilla & Lily very excited for Season 2
Although season one of the fantasy anime The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows was not rated as high by international viewers as I would have liked or expected, that has not stopped the production company for the Studio Makaria-animated series from greenlighting a second season.
Yep, The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows, Season 2 has just been confirmed today over six months after its first season ended with a new visual and a teaser trailer.
And that means more fun and games with the three friends — underground healer Zenos, rescued elf and clinic “nurse” Lily, and Carmilla the curmudgeonly wraith — as they band together with the heads of the slum factions Zophia, Loewe, and Lynga to help the local citizenry.
And, while we didn’t get much information about the anime’s upcoming new season yet, a teaser trailer featuring scenes from Season 1, and a celebratory visual of Zenos, Carmilla and Lily looking very excited about their upcoming new episodes, were also released as Season 2 was announced.
Production team for The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows, Season 2?
There is no word as of yet as to Season 2’s director or the rest of its staff, or if the same team that very nicely produced Season 1 will also be in charge (Hopefully so!). That will come later.
Season 1, however, was directed by Jou Yoshizaki (Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-), with Taika Miyagi in charge of series composition, scripts and as episode director for Episodes 1 and 2.
Denpuougi and Yoshihiro Sawada designed the characters, and Studio Makaria animated.
Let’s see then who is named as being part of the production team for Season 2, eh?
While Season 1 aired from April 3rd to June 19th, 2025, a premiere date for Season 2 has not been announced.
And, if you missed Season 1 (you might want to get on that, as it is an incredibly fun watch with an excellent English dub as well), here’s the plot synopsis for Season 1 of The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows:
Banished as “useless,” Zenos, a self-taught healer from the slums, turns despair into defiance and opens a secret clinic in the city’s shadows. With unlicensed, unmatched magic, he cures, comforts, and rights wrongs, quietly becoming a legend.
But as his power grows, even the royal palace takes notice. Can he buck the odds and heal a world that cast him aside?
Of course, we will keep you in the loop here at Baozi Buns as information about Season 2 heads our way.
Until then, head off to Crunchyroll and watch/rewatch the anime’s first fun season.
