It looks like Korean-German actor Teo Yoo is continuing his success in Hollywood as he has just been confirmed to be starring in the new action thriller Karoshi.
This after his role in the second season of the hit Netflix spy drama The Recruit, which began filming earlier this year, and his starring role in the 2023 indie film Past Lives, which created a huge buzz in Hollywood.
So much so, Teo Yoo received an invitation back in June to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) alongside his two Past Lives co-stars.
Now it seems Hollywood is knocking on his door again as Karoshi is a project being produced by both massive entertainment conglomerate Lionsgate Studios and John Wick franchise creators 87Eleven Entertainment.

In other words, Karoshi will be action-packed indeed.
What we know about Karoshi so far?
Not much information has been released about Karoshi as of yet except that the film’s plot is a “corporate thriller”.
But, if you know anything about the Japanese work environment, the term “karoshi” means “overwork death” ie: the death of those who died from working too hard due to suicide, heart attacks, strokes, malnutrition and, in some extreme cases, starvation.
Methinks the plot of Teo Yoo’s latest film may have something to do with that.
Whatever it is, it is only likely to help the incredibly talented actor with his obvious dream to make it big in Hollywood.
And, if any Korean actor can do it, Teo Yoo, who is fluent in German, Korean and English, and pseudo-fluent in Russian, as well as brilliant in every role he plays, most definitely can.
