Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3‘s final episodes drop tomorrow, so it’s getting a lot of attention
Now, I don’t pay any attention to how many bullet comments a C-drama is earning/has earned as, honestly, they don’t really mean that much. At least to me.
After all bullet comments, those annoying viewer opinions that fly across the screen when you’re engrossed in a drama, can be negative, positive or something in between.
But, the Chinese streaming services do take bullet comments seriously as, at least, it gives them an idea of the level of engagement viewers have in a specific drama, and if they feel generally positive towards it, or want to set the thing on fire and watch it burn.
So, here then is the latest announcement from iQIYI about the bullet comments for the almost-ended historical mystery Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3, which has just exceeded 100 million bullet comments since its first episodes premiered on November 8th.
Thank you to all the fans for your continued support~
Together with thousands of like-minded people, we have built the Tang Dynasty Ghost Stories: Chang’an bullet screen area with witty and heartfelt interactions, making every ingenious foreshadowing in the ghost cases a tacit code between us!
It arrived with another very pretty congratulatory visual, this one featuring every member of the main cast — from left to right Chen Chuang, Sun Xue Ning, Yang Zhi Gang, Yang Xu Wen, Gao Si Wen and Anson Shi.

Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty spin-off on its way tomorrow
And, if you will be as sad as I will be when Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty: To Changan ends tomorrow, look out for an 56-episode vertical spin-off possibly coming our way.
That new series is called Strange Chronicles of Tang: The Chang’an Detective, is directed by Guo Jingyu (Heroes), and is scheduled to stream on iQIYI beginning tomorrow.
Yep, right as season 3 of the hit historical drama ends.
It does not star any of the same main actors, but instead is led by Wang Zi Yi, who you will have seen in Episode 26 of Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3 as county sheriff Wei Tao, and Zhao Jia as physician Jiao Yu.
A Chinese source tells me each episode is scheduled to run for just 90 seconds but, hey, it’s still nice to get more stories from the same Tang Dynasty universe, isn’t it?
Update: Strange Tales of Dynasty: To the West wins Best Drama award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2025.
