Following on from the anime’s recent trailer, the upcoming fantasy romance Observation Records of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess has dropped a character video today for Bertia Ibil Noches, the fiancée of the series.
It’s the anime’s first of six character trailers, with the other five being released one at a time over the next five weeks.
Bertia’s character video features the voice acting of the wonderful Miyu Tomita (Miko in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War), and has the daughter of Duke Noches introducing herself as she tells viewers how she plans to be the villainess of the story.
Of course, her fiancé Cecil Glo Alphasta doesn’t believe she’s a villainess for a minute. But he does find her adorable every time she talks about her “villainous plans”.
Plus, with her bright red hair, big smile and infectious high-energy, she really is as cute as a button.
Latest Observation Records of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess production details
The romantic comedy (titled 自称悪役令嬢な婚約者の観察記録 in Japanese) is based on the popular light novel series written by Shiki, and tells the story of the relationship between self-proclaimed villainess Bertia Ibil Noches and Crown Prince Cecil Glo Alphasta.
Its full plot synopsis, via digital publisher Hanashi Media, goes like this:
Prince Cecil, blessed with extraordinary talent, found life dull and uneventful until his engagement to Bertia, the Chancellor’s daughter.
But Bertia is no ordinary fiancée. Instead, she claims to be the villainess from a past life, remembering her role in an “Otome game” where she plotted to have the engagement annulled. Despite her ambitions to excel as a villain, her attempts always fail.
Is Bertia truly misguided, or is there more to her plans than meets the eye?
The series is being directed by Junichi Yamamoto (Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You), with Akiko Inoue (Duel Masters!) in charge of series composition, and Miki Matsumoto (Summertime Render) designing the characters.
As for animation, Ashi Productions (The Holy Grail of Eris) is animating, while the series is being produced by AlphaPolis.
Enjoy Bertia’s very cute character video, and look out for Observation Records of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess premiering some time in 2026.
