New Death’s Game stills of Lee Jae Wook show him in prison as martial artist Cho Tae Sang

If you are looking for the Korean drama with the best cast of 2023, the upcoming TVING drama Death’s Game will surely be in the running.

Not only does it star Seo In Guk (Doom At Your Service) and Park So Dam (Record of Youth) in the main roles, it also features a crazy high-profile supporting cast.

With just the actors announced so far, that cast is made up of Kim Jae Uck, Kim Ji Hoon, Go Youn Jung, Nam Kyung Eup, Lee Do Hyun, Choi Si Won, Jang Seung Jo, Sung Hoon, Oh Jung Se, Yoo In Soo, King Jang Hoon and Lee Jae Wook.

A cast that each play one of the main lead’s reincarnations.

Holy hell, right?

This week, with various promotions being run for the superbly cast K-drama, the latest is the release of new Death’s Game stills featuring Lee Jae Wook.

Lee Jae Wook, of course, is one of South Korea’s most popular younger actors, as well as someone who plays one of main character Choi Yi Jae’s many reincarnations in Death’s Game.

In the new Death’s Game stills, Lee Jae Wook is seen wearing prison clothing, as well as gym clothes — the latter of which is definitely appropriate for the martial artist Cho Tae Sang he plays.

A martial artist who apparently does something wrong, as soon after we meet him he ends up in prison and under threat from some of the other inmates.

According to TVING, one of the new stills (see top photo) features Lee Jae Wook as Cho Tae Sang right before he is involved in an 8 versus 1 person prison fight.

Cho Tae Sang is also a character the 25-year-old actor apparently prepared well for, as he reportedly decided to get some martial art training before filming began, so that he was sure to look authentic during the K-drama’s action scenes.

I have a feeling with how seriously the Korean actor has taken his roles in the past, he has probably succeeded.

Check out the new Death’s Game stills above, and watch the recently released trailer for the Korean drama below that, as that gives you a glimpse at each of Choi Yi Jae’s 13 reincarnations below.

As for the synopsis for Death’s Game, the K-drama is based on a hit webtoon with Webtoon (where you can currently read it for free) explaining its plot like this:

He’s perennially unemployed, his ex-girlfriend has moved on, and he’s just lost all his life savings to a bitcoin scam. Burdened by societal pressures, Yijae Choi decides to take his own life.

Insulted by his flippant attitude towards dying, Death comes to punish him with her game: he must experience death over and over again through 13 other lives.

But if he can find a way to survive the imminent death coming for these lives, he gets to live out their lifetime. His life was a bust, but what about the lives of others?

Death’s Game will begin airing on TVING on December 15th, with Amazon Prime Video streaming it for viewers in some international regions.
