New Bye Bye, Earth S1 recap video – useful if you speak Japanese, if not, enjoy the pretty pictures

Steven Reynolds March 26, 2025

With anime Bye Bye, Earth, Season 2 premiering on April 4th, the production committee has been doing a nice job recently getting fans excited for the continuation of the fantasy series with posters, visuals, and announcements of the theme songs artists.

Today, they have gone one step further and released a nine-minute Bye Bye, Earth, Season 1 recap video as, yes, it was September last year when the final episode aired and folks forget.

The Bye Bye, Earth recap video is narrated by voice actress Saori Hayami, who played Shelly in the series.

And yes, I was quite excited when I saw the video pop up in my YouTube feed via anime producer WOWOW’s YouTube channel, only to click on it and realize it’s only useful if you speak Japanese.

That’s because, as is often the case with Japanese anime companies, the Bye Bye, Earth, Season 1 recap video does not include English subtitles — which, in this age of AI is lazy if the truth be known, so… enjoy it for the pretty pictures, I guess.

Bye Bye, Earth, Season 2

The Bye Bye, Earth anime series is adapted from the novel series written by Tow Ubukata (Psycho-Pass 2 and Psycho-Pass 3) and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano (Vampire Hunter D).

The anime is again being directed by Yasuto Nishikata (Killing Bites), with series composition by Hiroyuki Yoshino (World Trigger), and Yuuki Hino designing the characters.

All three are reprising their roles from Season 1, with Liden Films (Tokyo Revengers) also back in charge of anime production.

The Japanese version of the novel describes its plot like this:

In this world, Belle Leblac is the only one who was born as a deformed being.

She is a “flat” creature who, unlike the other inhabitants of her world, was born without fangs, fur or scales, and so she sets out on a journey to find another being just like herself.

Again, Bye Bye, Earth, Season 2 will hit international streaming services on April 4th. With English subtitles. Obviously.

Meanwhile, the anime’s first season is streaming on Crunchyroll. if you want to catch up that way as, yep, English subtitles and an English dub.
