Love in the Clouds kicks off its Douban entry with a solid initial rating
The just-ended Chinese drama Love in the Clouds has now debuted on Douban with an initial rating of 7.0.
A very respectable first score for a fantasy drama, which often don’t perform particularly well on the Chinese review platform, and one YOUKU celebrated this morning with a new poster of leads Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao.

It’s earned a mark of quality ✅ – the plot is tightly woven, the characters are three-dimensional, and the intense rivalry and fateful entanglement between the two leads make it impossible to stop watching!

The Chinese drama also reached 9,800 on YOUKU’s heat index, which also means it is one of the platform’s most successful dramas of 2025.
International ratings for Love in the Clouds as Cdrama ends
Internationally, the Chinese drama is also being rated very high on My Drama List, with an 8.9 out of 10 — a score that is almost unheard of for a Cdrama on that site.
Comments too are overwhelmingly upbeat, with only the occasional person (myself included — sorry) saying they did not/are not enjoying Love in the Clouds due to things like the ML and FL constantly lying to each other, the mediocre script, and the way so many episodes’ pacing drag.
Meanwhile, users of IMDB are rating the Chinese fantasy drama quite a bit lower with an 8.2 out of 10. Although that’s still a decent score for IMDB.
The 36-episode drama is now complete, with all 36 episodes available to stream internationally on YOUKU, although Episodes 33 through 36 are only available for an extra Express payment for another few days.
Update: November 27th, 2025 — As for lead Hou Ming Hao, he has already moved onto his next project having just finished filming Key to the Phoenix Heart, and almost immediately moving on to today’s booting ceremony for new mystery thriller Immortalis.
