Liu Hao Ran and Landy Li’s new fantasy romance Take a Nap has released its first batch of character visuals, and confirmed its cast.
But don’t get too excited yet as the Chinese drama just finished filming a couple of weeks ago so it will be a fair while before we get to enjoy it.
Do get excited about the cast, though, as this one’s is a banger.
The Take a Nap character visuals were released on iQIYI’s social media accounts today with the streaming service calling them “the first batch of island residents” as, yes, the events of the C-drama take place on an island.

iQIYI also commented about the plot:
The tides carry time to the island, and the island brings us closer to each other. When our individual journeys overlap here, a fated encounter quietly takes root.

Who is in the Take a Nap cast?
The C-drama is directed by Liu Chang, who also directed Miss Crow with Mr. Lizard (2021) and Let’s Fall in Love (2016).
And, like I hinted at, the cast is one of the best of the current batch of upcoming dramas as its headed by Liu Hao Ran who has not starred in a drama since 2019’s Novoland: Eagle Flag (Yay, he’s back!), and Landy Li who has recently starred in (and given superb performances in) Coroner’s Diary, Love of Nirvana, Filter and one of the segments of The Miracles.
The drama’s supporting cast is also stellar, with Zhang Cheng (Rose Finch), Xu Meng Yuan (Attractive You), Cheng Xiao (Glory), Liu Yi Tie (Created in China), and Yin Zheng (Winter Begonia) just some of the incredibly talented actors we’ll get to enjoy.
And all in one drama. Need I say more.

What’s the Take a Nap plot about?
While the plot so far is a little vague, this synopsis has been released:
The story of “Take a Nap” begins with a fateful, mismatched encounter.
The story tells of a girl who is confused about her life and a boy who has never received love. These two people, whose lives are full of problems, are unexpectedly transported to a remote and unknown island. Together, they explore the secret of the time-space distortion and embark on a wonderful love journey.
In other words, if you’re into contemporary fantasy dramas with an island theme, a standout cast, and one that likely features some kind of time travel, Take a Nap is definitely one to check out.
We will let you know when its premiere date is announced.
