“Tell me, what is your pain?”In ancient China…
Tao Yao, a doctor who specializes in treating yōkai, travels across the land with her companions — the young monk Mo Ya, the ash-fox Gun Gun, and the nobleman (who is actually a great serpent) Liu Gongzi — searching for the lost “Hundred Demons Compendium” while saving yōkai along the way.
With a chime of the golden bell on her wrist, she listens to the voices of their hearts and heals them.
What she glimpses within them are pure and desperate wishes — “I want to live.” “I want to be with someone.”
Through countless meetings and partings, the spirit physician Tao Yao mends their wounds.
And so, the journey to understand a hundred yōkai and a hundred hearts begins.
