Dragon’s Triumph in the Celestial Realm trailer and poster make martial arts donghua look fun

I have been looking at the list of donghua series production company YOUKU currently has coming out in the next year or so, and at least a couple of them look like they may be extremely fun action adventures.
Take a look at the upcoming Dragon’s Triumph in the Celestial Realm (aka 龙破九天) for instance.
This one is a martial arts-themed action fantasy donghua series that is being animated by Dancing CG Studio ( the Tai Yi Xian Mo Lu: Ling Fei Ji aka Magical Legend: Rise to Immortality franchise), and it looks promising.
Its trailer came out via the YOUKO Animation YouTube channel a couple of weeks ago (watch below), and gives us a decent look at what the high-speed, mid-air battles scenes look like and, yes, the choreography and animation looks great.
Its character models and backgrounds, while not particularly standout, are solid as well.
Along with the trailer, an official The Dragon’s Triumph in the Celestial Realm poster was released featuring protagonist Lin Chen and an, as yet, unnamed but very beautiful female martial artist.
The production company also commented about the plot:
A half-blood dragon youth strives to save his mother.
Yep, the donghua is definitely one to check out.
As for the Dragon’s Triumph in the Celestial Realm plot, the following has been released about it so far, which I think makes for a fun sounding donghua:
The story takes place in a fantasy martial arts world, where ordinary people can stimulate their spiritual and physical potential by constantly practicing martial arts and cultivating their inner strength.
The protagonist of the story, Lin Chen, is an ordinary martial artist who comes from an ordinary background and pursues the pinnacle of martial arts.
After being treated unfairly, he is angry and triggers his spiritual potential, entering a “heart protecting” state, during which time he foresees his family facing terrible danger in the future.
In order to protect his family and loved ones from fatal harm, while also investigating the mystery of his father’s disappearance, Lin Chen uses a mysterious list as a clue to pursue the truth behind all this.
This ultimately sets him off on a tortuous and difficult struggle with evil forces, thus creating a legendary story that is worthy of both praise and tears.
Chinese news media is reporting the Dragon’s Triumph in the Celestial Realm donghua will consist of 40 episodes, so that’s something to get your teeth into as well, right?
As yet, there has been no information given about the premiere date of the donghua.
