To survive, she flees to Jingzhou and takes on the identity of Qin Wan, the Ninth Lady of the Qin family. While initially seen as gentle and easily bullied, Qin Wan reveals that she has superb medical and forensic expertise — especially in autopsies and crime reconstruction.
As Qin Wan investigates mysterious deaths and palace intrigues, she encounters Yan Chi, the Crown Prince of King Rui, who shares her desire to uncover the truth and clear the Prince of Jin’s name.
Together they return to the capital, solving a series of complex, eerie cases — uncovering long-buried secrets tied to court power struggles, deadly conspiracies, and hidden enemies within the noble hierarchy.
