“Connection“, Episode 6 hits new record high ratings
In a thrilling continuation of its constantly rising ratings, the sixth episode of the gripping Korean crime drama “Connection” achieved yet higher ratings in South Korea on Saturday night, solidifying its position as a must-watch series in the genre.
The Korean crime drama series, which premiered on May 24, 2024, on SBS TV, has been captivating audiences with its intricate plot, stellar performances, and high-stakes drama since it started, but its ratings have been going through the roof in recent weeks.
Case in point, according to the latest data from Nielsen Korea, “Connection” Episode 6 garnered an impressive nationwide rating of 9.4 percent last night, which marks a significant increase from the previous episode’s already high rating of 8.50 percent.
The show achieved a remarkable 10.00 percent rating in the metropolitan area as well, suggesting a growing and dedicated fan base in that region.
Those ratings last night are also the 5th consecutive time the drama has seen a ratings rise. In other words, new ratings increases being earned with every episode since the Korean drama began.
Why has “Connection” become so successful?
The show’s impressive ratings can be attributed to its compelling storyline, well-developed characters, and the chemistry between the talented cast, which includes Ji Sung, Jeon Mi Do, Kwon Yul, and Kim Kyung Nam.
And, of course, to the superb performances of its main cast but, in particular, that of Ji Sung.
The writing too is nicely done as “Connection” cleverly builds suspense and intrigue to such an extent that, as each episode ends, it is done in such a place in the story it leaves viewers eagerly anticipating the next installment.
As the series progresses, with its constantly increasing ratings showing no sign of stopping, it also appears “Connection” is likely to remain one of the top-rated Korean dramas of the current season.
In other words, if you have not started to watch the show, even if you are not usually a fan of the crime genre (and it’s not a genre I would generally choose first, but I love this!) , you really should.
After all, if you are looking for a thrilling and engaging series to binge-watch that pulls you in and won’t let go, you will quickly find it is nigh on impossible to stop watching “Connection“.
