C-drama The Seven Relics of Ill Omen earns 2 million reservations – premieres June 8th, new stills dropped

Like I predicted a couple of days ago after solid information from Chinese sources who swore to me it was true, it has just been announced the Chinese action adventure drama The Seven Relics of Ill Omen will premiere on June 8th on YOUKU.
That announcement was made on YOUKU’s Weibo account a couple of hours ago, along with three new celebratory visuals — one for each main actor — (above and below) after the C-drama has earned more than 2 million reservations so far.

The Seven Relics of Ill Omen is the latest fantasy adventure C-drama to head our way that looks pretty promising. Especially as it is written by Wei Yu (尾鱼), who did such a spectacular job with Parallel World.
Tsai Yueh Hsun is directing too and, while one of his latest C-dramas, South Sea Tomb, wasn’t critically-acclaimed it was still a hella fun watch. With the same tomb raiding-y feel to it, he has probably done a similarly great job with The Seven Relics of Ill Omen as well.
Right before its premiere date was announced, new stills from the YOUKU adventure series were also released. And let’s just say, if nothing else, the Chinese drama features a spectacularly good-looking cast, doesn’t it?
Gotta say I am all in for Ao Ruipeng and his long hair as well, aren’t you?
That main cast, by the way is Song Weilong (A League of Nobleman), Liu Haocun (Be Passionately in Love), and Ao Ruipeng (The Blood of Youth).
The drama’s plot, which is adapted from Wei Yu’s novel ‘Seven Deadly Mystic Scripts‘ (七根凶简) looks like this:
It tells a story that began in ancient times when unknown and mysterious scripts descended upon Fengzi Ridge. The scripts are capable of possessing human bodies, corrupting minds, and driving people to evil.
As the mystic scripts re-emerge in the modern world, a series of bizarre and gruesome murders unfold one after another.
Five ordinary yet passionate young people—Mu Dai (played by Liu Haocun), Luo Ren (Song Weilong), Jiang Zhao (Ao Ruipeng), Yan Hongsha (Wang Yiting), and Cao Yanhua (Zhang Yichi)—are unexpectedly drawn into the events surrounding the mystic scripts.
Forming the Phoenix Team, they embark on a perilous adventure to subdue the deadly scripts.
