While I have to admit I stopped watching SPY x FAMILY after Episode 6 (no major reason, the anime just didn’t grab my attention), I have continually listened to both of the opening and closing theme songs as the artists chosen to record them are cool.
Along with the Mixed Nuts’ first opening theme song, my other favorite SPY x FAMILY theme song is Bump of Chicken’s ‘Souvenir‘ as, like all of Bump of Chicken’s anime theme songs, it is a banger.
And, even though I am no longer watching the SPY x FAMILY anime, I must admit, while I hated the song when it first released, it grew on me so much I now love the just-released Bump of Chicken’s ‘Souvenir‘ music video too, as it features many of the best and cutest scenes from the anime itself.
Scenes like Anya, Loid and “mom” Yor cooking breakfast together, Loid and Anya falling asleep on the sofa, Anya and Loid out walking their dog Bond and coming across Loid on the street, and the trio out as a family at the aquarium.
With the final episodes of SPY x FAMILY coming up for this season in the next couple of weeks, the ‘Souvenir‘ music video was created and released to look back on the hit anime series, and to recap what has happened in it so far.
And yep, it is adorably sweet and cute.
The SPY x FAMILY anime is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo.
The anime is directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Dororo), with Kazuaki Shimada (The Promised Neverland) as character designer, and WIT Studio and CloverWorks in charge of anime production.
It is currently streaming via Crunchyroll.
