Overdo passes 2 million reservations on iQIYI alone – doubles pre-orders from November

The C-drama has added over 1 million pre-orders in just over 2 months on iQIYI alone
It was only back in November that I reported the upcoming Chinese historical mystery thriller Overdo grabbing a combined 2 million reservations on iQIYI and Tencent Video.
This week, however, it now appears Overdo has far exceeded that with iQIYI reporting this morning the C-drama has now hit 2 million reservations — on iQIYI alone.
That announcement came with another pretty poster of the two leads — Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran – this time outside enjoying each other’s company, and the comment:
Eyes meet, love flows. In this moment, all past experiences condense into unspoken understanding.
Meanwhile, iQIYI has not yet announced a premiere date for Overdo, and the drama has not yet received a distribution license.
Some time in 2026 has been rumored though.
Well, at least that means we’ll be getting a few more pretty promotional visuals before it drops, eh?
The Overdo cast alone should bring in the fans
Along with Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran, Overdo also stars Fu Xin Bo, Xu Zhen Xuan, He Qiu, and Wang Zi Su.
The supporting cast also features such luminaries as Myolie Wu, Lu Qi, and Wei Qing, so, along with its intriguing plot (more here), this one should be a standout.
Throw in that Zhang Ling He always brings in the fans, and Wang Chu Ran is currently doing an absolutely stellar job with her lead role in How Dare You!?, while winning even more fans, yep, all signs point to Overdo being a hit when it does drop.
