The ongoing Lee Jung Jae-led drama Nice to Not Meet You, Episode 6 aired last night to the lowest ratings of its run so far.
But, if you’re a fan of the Korean drama, don’t panic just yet as Nice to Not Meet You‘s plummeting ratings on Tuesday night were not due to what you may think — viewers getting bored with the Korean drama, and moving on to something else.
Football game destroys Nice to Not Meet You‘s ratings
Instead, the reason Nice to Not Meet You, Episode 6 saw its ratings plummet last night, in both South Korean regions, is due to tvN airing a football game in the K-drama’s usual time slot.
That meant viewers who did watch it were forced to watch it at a later time than normal. Or, head to bed, and view it at another time.
Apparently, the latter is what a sizeable number of its usual viewership chose to do.
Nice to Not Meet You‘s ratings rise back up for Episode 7
The nationwide rating for Episode 6 of the tvN comedy romance then was 3.13 percent. An audience share that dropped quite a bit lower than its previous all-time low rating of 4.24 percent for Episode 3.
The Korean drama saw a similar performance with viewers in Seoul, dropping from Episode 5’s rating of 4.80 percent on Monday night to last night’s 3.39 percent. The worst rating it has received in that region of the country as well.
Considering the tvN drama has been earning solid ratings ever since its first episode dropped, even though netizens were slamming the drama and its male lead, those loud mouths apparently didn’t amount to much when it came to people continuing to watch it.
That’s why, with Episode 7 of Nice to Not Meet You scheduled to air on November 24th, bar the airing of another football game, we should see its ratings shoot right back up again.
Nice to Not Meet You international ratings
International ratings have also fallen for the Korean drama since it premiered on November 3rd.
On one drama-focused site, its initial 8.2 rating is now sitting at a 7.5 out of 10, while on another it has fallen from Episode 1’s rating of 8.0 to today’s 7.4 out of 10.

Considering ratings should have no bearing on what you choose to watch, though, both are inconsequential at best. Especially as people leaving comments about Nice to Not Meet You on both sites seem to be overwhelmingly enjoying it.
Then, when you look at how well the Korean drama is performing with users of Amazon Prime, who are actually watching it, you realize ratings are not important at all.
On Amazon, by the way, Nice to Not Meet You is in the Top 10 most-watched shows in 17 countries, with an average ranking of 5.7, and is the #1 most-watched show on the platform in Indonesia and Thailand.
Nice to Not Meet You stars the previously-mentioned Lee Jung Jae, along with Im Ji Yeon, Kim Ji Hoon and Seo Ji Hye. Look out for its ratings shooting back up again when Episode 7 drops.
