A new poster has dropped featuring A Dream Within a Dream‘s Nan Heng (beautifully played by Liu Yu Ning) with the announcement that the character has just exceeded 300 million in character popularity on iQIYI.
This, not even a week yet since the Chinese drama premiered on June 26th.
Along with the quite powerful looking visual of the , iQIYI also commented:

International Chinese drama fans seem overwhelmingly in love with A Dream Within a Dream
Meanwhile, A Dream Within a Dream also has international fans raving about its plot and main characters, both on social media platforms like X and Instagram, and on sites that cover Asian dramas.
Chinese drama fans over on My Drama List, for instance, are currently awarding it a high rating for that site of 8.5 out of 10, and with comments coming thick and fast every time a new episode drops.

Thus, proving how desperate people are to talk with others about what they’ve just watched, as it’s all so different than what they’ve seen before.
Comments that are also, for the most part, overwhelmingly positive and extremely complimentary to the screenwriter, Ren Zhuang Liu (Story of Kunning Palace).
A writer who has written such a clever mockery of so many of the tropes we are all so familiar with in Chinese dramas.

Update: Well… it’s just three days later and, yep, Liu Yu Ning’s Nan Heng has now grabbed 400 million character popularity points — Congrat, eh?!
