Good Boy EP3 grabs highest nationwide rating yet while earning lowest rating in Seoul

Michelle Topham June 8, 2025

To prove audiences across career don’t always like the same thing, the new Korean drama Good Boy, Episode 3 grabbed its highest nationwide rating yet on Saturday night while, in Seoul, it earned its lowest rating.

Well, actually, before you get all bent out of shape about that, the ratings really aren’t that different across the board, I just thought it made a good headline. (smile)

For instance, Good Boy, Episode 3 earned 5.59 percent from nationwide audiences, while earning 5.40 percent in Seoul.

Yep, the teeny tiny difference of 0.19 percent in the two regions.

And with the only reason Episode 3 earned its lowest rating in Seoul so far is due to the K-drama premiering on May 31st to a 5.74 percent audience share.

So, no, it didn’t drop that much in Seoul either.

In other words, what we can learn from last night’s Good Boy ratings so far is that the JTBC drama is still earning very steady ratings a week after it premiered.

Plus, with The Haunted Palace ending its run last night, my prediction is we will likely see it rise from here on out as its main competitor is off the stage.

Especially as its successor, Our Movie, does not seem to be getting the buzz other dramas have earned. At least yet.

Critics also seem to love Good Boy

As the Korean drama is earning excellent critic ratings and comments, its future also looks pretty solid there as well.

For instance, The Korea Times called Good Boy “a bold, comic-book-style take on justice” with “a satisfying narrative”, while praising Park Bo Gum‘s performance as boxer Yoon Dong Ju.

The newspaper’s reviewer also compliments the series’ visuals and its director:

visually, the series shines with fast pacing and stylish direction. Shim’s use of creative angles and props adds flair to each scene, enhancing both the characters and the narrative.

Good Boy airs every Saturday and Sunday evening, with its next episode kicking off on JTBC later on tonight — my guess is to even higher ratings. In both regions.

International viewers can watch the K-drama either on Amazon Prime Video or Netflix, depending where you are located.
