Lee Joong Ok joins Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young in The Judge from Hell a new supernatural SBS drama

South Korean actor Lee Joong Ok’s involvement in the upcoming crime romance K-drama, The Judge from Hell was officially confirmed earlier today by various South Korean entertainment news media.
From what has been released so far, we know The Judge from Hell is an SBS romantic fantasy drama in which Kang Bit Na (played by Park Shin Hye), an actual “demon from hell”, enters the body of a judge, then meets Han Da On (Kim Jae Young), a detective who acts unbelievably human in a reality that is more hellish than hell.
As Bit Na, the demon’s job is to kill the people who cause others to die, and then send them to Hell.
But also as Bit Na, she finds herself becoming intrigued by Han Da On, as he is a man who is carrying pain that few can see or feel.
Lee Joong Ok is taking on the role of Jae Hyun in the new drama. He is a demon who runs a cleaning company in the human world, and who collaborates closely with Kang Bit Na to help her do her job.
The SBS drama is being directed by Park Jin Pyo (Brave Citizen).
2024 is turning out to be a busy year for Lee Joong Ok
As for Lee Joong Ok, The Judge from Hell marks the actor’s second K-drama for 2024, following his role in the hit Netflix original A Killer Paradox earlier this year.
He is also slated to star in the upcoming film Only God Knows Everything alongside Shin Seung Ho, Han Ji Eun, Park Myung Hoon, Jeon So Min and Yoo Sung Joo.
So, yep, it appears 2024 will be busy for Lee Joong Ok.
Then again, the now 45-year-old actor also had an equally busy 2023, appearing in Korean dramas Castaway Diva, Strong Girl Namsoon and Bloodhounds, so he’s used to hard work.
There is no word yet on when The Judge from Hell will begin filming, but it is scheduled to air on SBS some time in the second half of 2024.
